Lovin' This Lunchbox!

Can you just see why? The hard part now is giving it to my sister in law! She ordered a lunch box a while ago for her daughter's teacher. I had to order more tins (a nice bulk order so now I have PLENTY of lunch boxes... order now!) and they arrived just in time for me to make this WITH a mini album inside in time to hand deliver them this weekend when I head down to see them.

My New Skill

Recently, I took the time and trouble to take a class in PSE (Photoshop Elements) to improve my photo editing. One thing they did NOT teach me but a good ol' google search did was combining more than one image into a single photo. Here is my first try at this and the pictures include much of the work I've been up to this week as I (not so patiently) await the arrival of my lunch boxes that I need to get working on.

The larger images on the left are closeups within the layouts that are on the right. I totally scraplifted the rolled papers (lower left image) from a great layout I saw on the Scrapbook Nook.

Grandkids!

Just in time for Mother's Day! Grandmas are mothers too so what better gift to give than a GRANDKIDS album. This one is for my sister-in-law's mother. Hope she enjoys. I used mostly Daisy D's paper and now that they're out of business, this paper is very hard to come by. I love the bold colors and interesting combinations that Daisy D was known for.

Too Nice to Scrap!

Seriously, winter is FINALLY over in the northeast and I've been out and about with the family enjoying this beautiful weather. That doesn't mean I've stopped scrapping entirely!! I have a few orders I'm working on plus I just got 180 more photos of my girls from Snapfish (including our recent trip to Washington) so I've got plenty of projects to keep me busy.

Here are a few recent pages I've made that I think turned out really cute:

This first page was made using pieces of the kit I have available plus other papers from the same line.

Here's one that I had fun putting together. I actually had to use my computer to print out the little titles and that's huge for me. I usually prefer pages that are just quick and easy. Sitting on the computer, choosing the right font, printing it and then cutting it seems tedious but it wasn't too bad this time:

I know I mentioned that I have 180 photos from Snapfish waiting. The worse part is that I have another 180 (at least) from last fall and winter that STILL need to be scrapped so you will probably be seeing a bunch of winter and Christmas pages coming from me:

Holden

Ahhh... wall letters. They are so much fun to make! This client also provided me with a link to the bedding she is using in her son's room which helps immensely in trying to find the perfect accents. I love the way these letters turned out and I hope she agrees :)

Scrapbooking Tip #14: Go For It!!

Go all out! I need to take my own advice sometimes. I love shopping for scrapbooking supplies but many times I find that I hoard them because I'm afraid to use them. I am always thinking "well, I might want to use this on another project." Too often, I come across some great supplies months or even years after I bought them only to find I don't really like them that much! So use your supplies NOW because something even better is coming along, trust me!

Party Time!

I was reluctant to post again since I didn't want my scrap page from the last post to get bumped down... I don't know why, I just really like it. But life goes on. Yesterday I was privileged to spend my afternoon with a sweet group of youngsters for a painting party. In New Paltz, there are limited AFFORDABLE resources for parents who want to have fun parties for their children so I'm happy to travel and provide the supplies so parents can relax knowing that they can provide fun and not break the budget. If you're local, contact me about party details. I can do painting, scrapbooking, and other crafts. If you're not sure, just ask!

Disney Princess Keepsake Boxes

How cute are these??
A lucky pair of sisters will be getting these Disney boxes. They're perfect for displaying on a dresser and keeping little knick-knacks or hair ties.

Seems like this is a sisters kind of thing. The first set of Disney boxes I made also went to two sisters. Now, of course, the pair of sisters that live here have seen them and now want their own so looks like my workload is doubled!

The best part about this project is that I did it for a friend I went to high school with and haven't seen in a long time so it's been nice that my business (through Facebook) has reacquainted me with many friends.

Contest!

As I have previously announced, I now have a Jeune Girl Community Forum. I'd love to have serious scrappers sign up (it's totally free) and join in our forum. We'll be chatting about techniques and ideas and other happenings in the scrap world. I hope it evolves into a true community of supportive, creative people who want to share ideas and their work (we also have a photo album where you can upload your work)

So, I am announcing my first forum contest where new members who sign up by April 20th will be entered into a drawing to win a fabulous prize (to be announced!). Anyone who is already a member and refers a friend will be entered TWICE into the contest for every new member she (or he) brings to the forum. So the more people you get to sign up, the more you will have a chance to win (remember to tell your friend that you sent them so you get entered!)

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaack!

I'm back from vacation! I am already back to work!!! I had a very relaxing (yet tiring... go figure) 4 days in Washington DC and spent time with hubby and the girls. I also saw my aunt, uncle, and cousin who I haven't seen in a few years. They were nice enough to open their house to us and I think they actually enjoyed Brynne and Catrina!

I have some name albums I will be working on as well as several lunch boxes. This particular lunch box was one I meant to finish before I left but it is finished now and hand delivered in time for little Ava to have a matching box just like her big sister (Allie... she had the Sleeping Beauty lunch box that I posted last week). Ava gets Belle though. I hope there is no fighting over the princesses.

I am very happy to be back among my scrap things and I'm looking forward to doing more work for all of you so please contact me about any projects. Also, remember that you can purchase directly from the blog using the paypal feature on the right sidebar (this site will allow you to add a description with your order and I will know what it is you need.)

Bryant: A Memorial

This project is the kind that I am honored to do but I don't like the fact that it came as a result of a family tragedy. You see, Bryant was the infant son of a friend of my client who died unexpectedly of SIDS. I knew I had to make a respectful memorial to a young life that had only just begun. I hope that in time, this album comes to help in the long healing process this family will go through.

This is the last project I finished before I go with my family on a vacation to Washington DC. I will be back on Friday so if you have any project requests, you can email me anytime and I will see it when I get back.

While I'm gone, remember to hug your little ones a little bit tighter and enjoy every minute you're blessed to be with them. Be well and I'll talk to you when I get home.

Open the Floodgates!!

I have been working overtime to get some of these projects to their new homes so I am just going to show them off so my clients can finally see their projects. The USPS is going to be BUSY at my house today.... hope my mail carrier brings a forklift!

Up first we have a great one two punch for a new born baby. This gift was actually ordered gift wrapped and sent right to the happy family. I was happy to add this touch, complete with handmade card.
Welcome to the World Brody!

Next! (and I apologize for the funky lighting... took these pictures last night). We have another birthday celebration... this time a 4 year old "girlfriend" of my client's son. She's a girly girl who loves pinks and purples.... hmmm.... I think I can handle that request!

Last but not least, we have another blend of great photography and creative scrapbooking.... my longtime client Jenn is also a client of my good friend Melissa of Surprise Photography. Jenn asked me to scrap some of the photos from their shoot when her son was just an infant. He's turning 1 this month! Happy Birthday T!!!
