Friendship Frames at Lifebridge Sanctuary

Girls Day Out at Lifebridge Sanctuary

I was privileged to spend my Saturday at the Lifebridge Sanctuary in High Falls to participate in a "Girls Day Out" sponsored by the Ulster County Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. Please visit their website for more information.

There were over 40 local area girls enrolled in the various classes.
I led an enthusiastic group of 5 young ladies in the "Friendship Frames" class. Each girl had her own unique design in mind. I was so pleased with with the level of participation and the sheer creativity these crafters displayed. Each of them had some degree of "scrapbooking" experience so they went right to work!

It was such a pleasure getting to meet Kayla, Amanda, Nichale, Cheyenne, and Asia.

Ebay Update

My Ebay group QITM is trying out some cute challenges in the next few weeks. Please visit the QITM blog for more information on these and other exciting events that will be coming up for my Ebay business.

I have also had some special requests for more GIRL crafts. I guess when I make girly stuff, I keep it for my own girls. So I'm not being selfish anymore! My items are up for bid on Ebay now so please take a look! I'm hoping to make even more in the coming days and weeks.

Coupon Specials and Jeune Girl Update!

Coupon Specials for April are posted on the left and in larger print at the bottom of my blog. I will be incorporating those into my Ebay listings and anyone who orders through my website will also be receiving that special. The free shipping is for order totals of $75. This does not apply to ongoing orders so if you want the free shipping, you'll need to place an order totalling $75 and it must all be shipped together. Thanks!

I am happy to say that I am getting to the point where I actually have to keep a list of my projects to be made. Thanks to all of you who have contacted me for work to be done. I am excited to be so busy! (I'm never too busy for more projects though so please let me know what you need!)

I do work quickly on the projects and whenever possible I like to get finished projects to my clients as soon as possible. Now that I'm working on multiple projects I would ask that anyone who needs something done by a certain date, please contact me a month in advance. I can make exceptions for "scrapbooking emergencies" but I'd like to be fair to everyone by working on my projects in the order they were received.

Make sure to check back on any weekly specials I may add in the coming weeks.

Happy Easter!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! This is a cold one but I'll wish you a Happy Easter anyway. I recently sold the page shown here on Ebay and I think I'm going to have to recreate it for my own Easter pics.

Remember to get some great memories from your Easter egg hunt for your upcoming scrapbook pages.

Since I usually create holiday and seasonal pages AFTER the season is over (when I get a bulk order from Snapfish) I try to jot down little memories from an event so when I go to make the pages later, something I may have forgotten can be added.

Wedding & Communion Gifts

With spring arriving in a few short days it's time to think about wedding and Communion gifts for friends and family.

This custom frame is just one of the many items that can be personalized. The sample shown was done as a communion frame for a client (though for the picture I stuck in one of my wedding photos from a million years ago when I got married). Please allow a week for completion of custom items. Be sure to check out my website that had to be remodeled from the ground up. It is back and all the albums are working again. Thanks to my web design team! (ok, it's more like one person). www.jeunegirl.com

QITM Blog

I just set up a blog to which I belong. The ladies in the group are eager to get started and will be discussing upcoming challenges and other news relating to our group and individual businesses.
We just finished our first group challenge for Easter and we have 2 additional group projects debuting in the next month. We are also coordinating our own designs by themes the group will decide on. This gives us the chance to show our individual styles while still working together.

Irresistable!

After about 3 months of working for others, I'm finally taking a break to work on some of my own pictures that have been accumulating for some time. This is a really simple layout that turned out really cute, in my opinion of course. I actually had a completely different idea but the visual for the "Irresistable" title came to me and I decided to just focus on these 2 pictures and add the title. Sometimes simple can be very dramatic.

It also helps to have such a cute model!

Scrapbooking Tip #1

So many people ask me for layout advice and my first tip is choosing the right photo. You cannot treat your scrapbook like a photo album. Each scrapbook page is a work of art, therefore, your photos should be chosen with care.

A great photo can be enhanced with embellishments. I recommend choosing your photo before choosing the paper you want to use for a layout. For example, these photos were taken in September but they don't necessarily scream "fall day" so I chose the colors to bring out the peach in the sweater and to offset the amazing blue in the sky behind Catrina.

A scrapbook page doesn't need to have EVERY photo from an event... just pick the best ones and go from there. I made this scrapbook page in 2006 and it is near at the top of my list of favorite pages. Check back frequently for more tips and if you have any questions, please contact me.
