Bustling with Activity

I haven't posted in a while since I've been out of commission (my scrap room is also my guest room so when we have guests I have to close up shop). I had been working on some name albums that were in limbo but I had a few hours today to get them finished! The Love albums and Baby will be posted on Ebay soon and the Reba album was a custom order for another "Make A Wish" young lady.

I hope you have a Happy and Safe New Year and I'll be back to posting here in 2009 where I hope to have an even better year watching my business grow! Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

I did promise a Christmas gift to you so here is my big deal that I'm giving starting in January. I am offering 10 premade pages (any theme or themes) for $50 INCLUDING SHIPPING!!!!!!!!!! This works out to less than $5 a page. This offer will be good through February 28th. BONUS: The first 3 people to contact me (via email or by leaving a comment) will get their package for $40!

In other Jeune Girl News... I am going to be placing an order for name albums around January 10th so if you have any name or word you would like me to make for you (up to 9 letters), please get in touch with me so I can get your invoice ready. Remember, I accept Paypal and checks and if you plan on paying by check, your check needs to be here before I can order your album.

Scrapbooking Tip #11: Mix it Up!

Wow, tip #11... 11 is my lucky number so I'll have to make this a really good tip. I thought of this one while I was working on this layout of Brynne. She is my little scientist and explorer. She loves to be out in nature and coming across new and interesting creatures and critters so I thought "NATURE" was a good title for these photos of Brynne digging for crayfish (she picked this big guy up while daddy and grandpa were off to look for something more sensible with which to pick it up)

So my tip has to do with texture and trying to use a variety of items in a single layout. I used metal, flowers, chipboard (both painted and "naked"... scandalous!), as well as layered paper. I also mixed about 10 different brands of items here... I have no brand loyalty! And why should I when all the companies put out things that coordinate so nicely.

Finishing Up the Teachers' Gifts

By doing this I think I'm guaranteeing another snow day on Monday but I just finished the gift for Catrina's assistant teacher. It's a glass block similar to one I had posted earlier. These items were really cute but for some reason they are poorly designed in that the sticker on the entire front of the block did not just peel off cleanly and I had to work longer at removing it than it took to decorate. Needless to say, I probably won't be offering these for sale anytime soon.

What a Giveaway!

One of the scrapbookers I really admire is having a giveaway on her blog! I have entered the contest and hope you do too.
All you do is visit her blog and leave a comment to be entered into the drawing!

Snow Brings Out My Creativity

So we were pounded by snow today and my girls had a snow day and hubby even worked from home! We enjoyed the day together and even got a chance to go outside while the snow was falling (it's still falling but it's dark now so we will stay inside thank you very much).

But I had some opportunity to be creative today and I think I'm bipolar or something. When you see the two items I finished you may understand why:

This SNOW album is now available for purchase, contact me for details. I will be listing it on Ebay after Christmas if it is not sold before then:

Maybe all this snow got me to thinking about warmer days spent at the cottage with the family this summer:

Who Doesn't Love Glitter?

At the moment, I'd say me. I've had this K&Co Twinkle Type lying around for a while and the box was so full of these glitter letters that the top wouldn't shut. Naturally, I knocked the box over in my closet so now I have pink glitter EVERYWHERE. I do commend K&CO... their glitter letters are no joke. So it is now my mission to use up some of the letters so I can safely shut the box. I decided to use them on this layout of some random photos of Brynne looking cute, sassy, and ALL GIRL!

Creative Holiday Gifts

In the mad scramble to get holiday gifts ready, I almost forgot about the instructors at the dance school. My girls love going to ballet each week so I thought I'd make something for their teachers. All of the teachers are young (late high school and college age) so I wanted to make something that would be useful and youthful (after all "jeune" means young!). I've had these wood framed bulletin boards for a while and never had a good use for them so I figured the girls could use them and put little papers or photos in the pockets or on top of the paper with thumb tacks. Unfortunately for my clients, I used the last of these boards to give as gifts so I don't think I'll be making these available (I must check the stash in the basement though)

Getting Crafty While I Still Can

A few weeks ago I was asked if I would like to start working at Catrina's playschool starting in January. With no other children at home I couldn't turn it down. I mean, 3 hours a day and it goes on the school district's schedule... it doesn't get more perfect than that. The only drawback is that I will be losing my "me" time... the time I've been using to do my craft projects for clients as well as myself. I will still have my evenings and weekends though.

For now, I will enjoy the free time I have left and use it to kick start my resolution to do more "me" pages.

More Fun With Names

I was recently contacted by a new client to make 2 name albums for 2 of her friends who are expecting. Coincidentally, both are having girls and have chosen the names Lola and Laila. Even stranger.... both have the same color scheme for their nurseries! So I had more fun with PURPLE. It's funny to me how popular purple and lavender are for me to make projects with but when I went to get bedding for Catrina's lavender room I had a really hard time finding purple.

Christmas is Coming!

.

... for one of my most loyal clients!

She took advantage of my Christmas and Holiday Page pricing with 4 layouts to use for her darling little girl and also a holiday themed frame. I am still a little snowflake crazy and obsessed with the MME Christmas line so I hope she likes what I've done. Otherwise, I'll just have to keep the frame for myself!

Thanks Amber for your order and hope to do more work for you in the new year!

Christmas Layout Pricing. 5 Days Left!

2 Pages for $12! This price is for Christmas and winter-themes only.

I am LOVING this new line of paper from My Mind's Eye and this look is definitely "me". I'm so excited to carry through on my promise to make more pages that allow me to be totally creative. These 2 layouts are now available on Ebay and I'm hoping to list more like this in the coming days.
