Swimming in Names!

The name albums are HERE!! I have finished 4 of them (well, the poor boys are suffering without their binder rings but I'm hoping that my "associate" will stop at the supply store after he works his other job today) and I think they all look fabulous. Each one is so unique (though with both of the girly albums, my clients requested very similar styles).

Andrew's mother gave me pretty free reign... her words were "uhhh, primary colors?" so I got to use these neat jungle animals that I've been holding for a while. I also told her that the paper I used was paper I was saving for a rainy day (actually, a snowy day since I had a winter layout in mind with it) so she needs to love it!

Audrey's mother was also on the receiving end of my hoarding. The "A" is made out of paper I was keeping for "just the right page" of my girls and that page never came so she's the lucky recipient!

Enjoy. Remember, I will be placing another order next month so if you want one, you can get on the list!

Back to School and Back to Class!

Ok, this post is two-fold. First of all, for my local fans, I am going to start scrapbooking classes in my home starting in September. I will be holding them twice a month with a different theme for each class. Anyone who has any input on scheduling should get in touch with me since I want to make the classes convenient for people. I am also going to start booking scrapbooking parties again starting in September. For local scrapbookers, this means I'll come to your home so you and your friends can have a "girls night in" for crafts and conversation (a little wine is ok too). In the past I have done parties where we have made scrapbook pages with frames, door knob hangers, paint cans, memory boxes, clipboards, and cookie tins. Contact me for a list of available projects. Remember, hostesses craft for free!!

Secondly, for my loyal fans who are not fortunate to be in the beautiful Hudson Valley, I wanted to remind you that "Back to School" pages will be timely soon and if you want to commemorate your child's big day, let me know and I'll make a great page for your little one.

Name Albums: the Sequel!

I've had a few people ask me about the name albums and I did place an order last week. I will be placing another order in September in time for holiday gift giving. I think these make a wonderful and completely unique gift so make sure you keep them in mind for your friends and family this holiday season.

Heavy Metal

I haven't come down from my concert high so I dabbled in some metals for this layout of the girls. I was looking for the perfect paper for this picture for a while and this (retired) Wild Asparagus paper was just perfect. Sometimes I just hold onto paper forever and never use it but this time, I made an exception. This page now has a place of honor on my scrap "Wall of Fame" in my office.

Even Scrappers Need a Day Off

There's not much out there that can drag me away from scrapbooking but last night was an exception. I am a HUGE Billy Joel fan. I've been going to his concerts for 18 years and last night was my 11th time seeing him. Little did I know when I purchased the tickets so many months ago that it would be an epic concert for the ages. I had a once in a lifetime chance to see Paul McCartney take the stage one more time at Shea Stadium and he brought the house down. Billy Joel has always been a class act and his live shows can be awe inspiring but last night he outdid himself!

Billy and Paul:
Better shots from the big screen. And I actually had decent seats!

Christmas Album Slide Show!

Ok, I wasn't going to list this item on Ebay but I caved. I just want to see how it goes. Click here to see the listing. It's part of my Ebay design team's "Christmas in July" sale.

Last Call for Name Albums!

I'm placing the order this Friday so if you're interested in a name album, please get in touch with me before then. I am requiring a deposit before I place the order so I would like to get everything squared away.
In the meantime, I had to place an order earlier than expected so I have gotten my hands on a few names already! These are for a local mom and she's really happy with the results.
I am also pre-ordering some for my booth at the Taste of New Paltz this September. These will be for Halloween and Christmas.

Fun with Minnie

I am proud of my recent Ebay activity. The ladies in my Ebay group (myself included) were convinced that buyers had taken the summer off but we recently got together and did a massive flurry of listings and I'm happy to say that most of mine sold!

I'm almost sorry to see these go, hopefully they are going to a good home (in Minnesota!)

I have been having fun making these Disney characters and hope to continue doing this. (I ordered a name album spelling out DISNEY that I plan to decorate and sell on Ebay for anyone who wants to commemorate their trip to Disney World or Disneyland). I'll post that on here once I get it decorated!

My Morning with Surprise Photography

It is so important for moms who are trying to make it on their own to support each other and I can hardly think of a better compliment to a scrapbooker than a photographer. Melissa and I have been friends since before she was a mom (and before I had my second) and we have since become momtrepreneurs. She has built a great photography business while I have been working on Jeune Girl. We started around the same time and we're both just getting better and better at what we do.

I spent this Saturday morning with Melissa and my girls visiting some beautiful local sights. The girls got to be little divas and had just a great time dressing up and performing for us. To them, this wasn't a photo shoot... it was just hanging out with mommy and Melissa and being fancy.

So if you're a local family looking for someone to take some great, natural family photos, be sure to contact Melissa(www.surprisephotography.com). Click here to see a sample of the photos she took of my girls.

Scrapbooking Tip #5: Texture

I kept my vow to work on my own pages (for today at least) and I decided to play with various textures and I hope you do try it on your own pages. This layout features several types of embellishments that add dimension and texture to your layouts that might otherwise just look flat and lifeless.

Buttons & Ribbon:
I used a sewing machine to create this stitching. I have been enjoying this new medium immensely!

Taking a Few Days to Catch Up

I have a TON of photos waiting to be scrapbooked and my head is swimming with all the work that will be upcoming for me. I am going to be busy working on the name albums for everyone and I will be preparing for several Ebay challenges as well as the Taste of New Paltz craft show in September. For the next week I think I'll be taking time to work on my own pages (I say this, we'll see if I actually do it.) I just placed another order with Snapfish so the stack of photos will just grow bigger if I don't do something this weekend.

Half Price Summer Continues!

The word is out that I'm offering half price pages this summer. The pages shown here are for a client I had done work for before she even had her darling daughter and now she's 7 months old! Time flies and I was privileged to work on some pages for her. These are examples of my half price pages. There is definitely some detail but I have also left ample room for people to add their own personal touches... the best of both worlds!

Another Name Album:

This one took a little longer to put together since I had several more interruptions this time around. I'm happy with the results and even went out of my (pink) comfort zone to come up with a style that was girly but not pink. I'm looking forward to making these for my customers. Remember, I need the orders by July 18th!

Back and Ready for Action!

I played hooky this weekend and left all my scrapbooking supplies at home to go off on a much needed little jaunt to the family cottage. These are the lazy days of summer after all! I've recharged my batteries and I'm ready to get to work on all sorts of great crafts. Keep an eye out for more name albums and samples of my 1/2 price summer deal.
These girls keep me busy most days!
