Special Deliveries!!!

Imagine my complete surprise when the UPS man delivered BOTH of the packages I had been eagerly waiting for. Now the Primas took over a week to arrive but my lens took about 24 hours! I don't know which one I was more excited to see.

It's Time to Strut My Stuff

Contest time!!!!!!!!!!!

That's right!!! Time to try to win something great from "The Scrapbook Nook". To be eligible to win a GREAT kit like the ones I used to make these projects, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post. If I am chosen (randomly) as the winner, one of YOU will also win!!!

So check out these projects that I've made using 3 kits from the Scrapbook Nook!

The first photo (my cute mini purse) used the July Kit. I love the bright colors! The lunch box featured the June kit and I was able to give this as an end of the year gift for Brynne's teacher. The Snow Cute layout (my favorite layout EVER) was made using the April kit (probably my favorite kit)

The Laundry Gods are Out to Get Me!

Yes, that's right. I'm having laundry issues. It all started when I wanted to wash our queen size and very fluffy comforter. My washing machine will not accommodate such a monstrosity (I know, stupid "no kids" purchase.... small washing machine) so I had to call upon benevolent friends. However, I had pretreated it at one point and it developed mildew (TMI.... yeah, get to the point!). So I ended up taking it to the laundromat.... a place I hope to never have to go ever again. I had to stay EVEN LONGER because my wonderful dryer (big enough for the comforter) has decided to break. The motor runs but the tumbler doesn't tumble so Mr. Whirlpool will be here between 8 & 5 tomorrow.

So what's a girl to do with so much time on her hands? You bring the laptop and you digi-scrap of course. First you have to help your friend with her baby announcements (not giving that away yet) and then you mess around with PSE for the rest of the time. I came up with this digital work:

Lunch Boxes... as Promised.

I've been building this up on Facebook all weekend so I have to come through on my promise to post the 2 lunch boxes I made over the weekend for an Etsy client. If you are unfamiliar with Etsy, I recommend you stop by my shop by clicking HERE or you can search for seller Megc74. Etsy is an online shopping source similar to Ebay but so much cooler. It caters to buyers and sellers looking for high quality handmade items.

As a seller, I like posting on Etsy because it is more user friendly, less expensive, and less "strict" than Ebay. I am also still selling on Ebay under the name JeuneGirlCrafts (all one word).

Ok, back to these lunch boxes. I had an interesting challenge. This client's daughter's room is lavender and sage green (same as my daughter Catrina) but she said she's not very into flowers!!!! Holy cow, how to design a girly lunch box without using flowers!!!!!?

As for Ethan... his lunch box was a breeze. When Jennifer contacted me about making a boy lunch box in a baseball theme I knew right away that I'd be using this awesome paper by Cosmo Cricket along with their awesome chipboard baseball player.

Cute Digi Designs

Last night I was invited to my friend Debbie's house to scrap. Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy a night of scrapbooking with friend more than is probably healthy. BUT, I can never decide what to bring and inevitably leave important supplies at home. At scrap nights, I usually get very little done. This time, I did a little outside the box thinking and decided to travel light.... I only brought my laptop. I had a productive night!

Is there a Chill in the Air?

Well, pretty much all summer has been pretty chilly here in New York and I have actually predicted that our harshest summer weather will probably hit us in September, when I'm ready to start pulling out my cute fall sweaters.

My bag o' photos is overflowing so I grabbed a few and realized they were from last fall so I grabbed my big box of "off season" supplies and made some pages fitting that season. Here is one sample:

Digi Scraps, Photo Editing, & Collages

After scrapbooking mostly by hand for 7 years (and counting) I have been pushed into the digital arena by many well meaning and caring friends and family who have encouraged me to offer these services.

I am pleased to announce that I am now offering digital scrapbook pages, basic photo editing, and digital photo collages. The process is very easy on your part... simply email me the photo you'd like me to work on and I will do the rest!

Anyone interested can contact me at meg@jeunegirl.com.

Scrapbooking Tip #16: Carpe Diem!

Recently, I went into my archives to scrap some pages using some rub-ons I've had for a long time and guess what? Rub-ons don't work so well if you wait two years to use them! So when you buy something, make sure you use it in a timely fashion. Even with other items, I find that I hold onto them forever and before I know it, they are out of date and I'm out of luck!

So Seize the Day!

Back in Town

I just got back to town after a weekend in northern NY with the family celebrating the wedding of my sister in law. The girls were the cutest flower girls! I'm happy to be home and busy working on some new projects!

Still Loving Girly Stuff

While the boy pages are fun once in a while... my true passion is for my daughters and making pages for them is how I got started in scrapbooking in the first place.
