I Need an Intervention

I have been bad at keeping up with my scrap room. I am usually so good at maintaining a certain level of tidiness but lately I've been off my game. I think a cleansing is in order! Hopefully this weekend this big mess will be no more!

It doesn't help that I had 2 coupons for Joann's and Michael's was had a HUGE paper sale. I totally stocked up. I bought 3 DCWV slabs of paper (which I totally DO NOT NEED but had to have... ok, yes, I do need the neutral cardstock since I am running low) and some fun stuff too (check out the cute MM Journaling book... adorable! Now, what the heck do I do with it????)

Layout Mania!

I have terrific clients. They are so easy going that my work is more like play. Everyone who has ordered the 10 pages from me has given me the freedom to do the styles I like. I am about halfway done with my current orders and I wanted to post these for Elisha.

12 x 12 Layouts are in Full Swing!

I have had several clients jump at the 10 Page Deal. Here are the first 10 I made for a long time client who had a nice mix of specific requests and just general "girly" pages. I was happy to provide both types for her. I hope she loves my "vision" for the pages for her little girl for whom I did wall letters before she was even born and now she's just so big! Time flies!

Welcome to the Jungle

I was so happy to be contacted by a returning client to make a name album for a little boy who is on his way. His baby shower is later this month so I had to get crackin' right away. His room is a jungle theme so I was able to use some adorable stickers that I've been holding onto for just such a project.

Things Just Work This Way Sometimes

When people contact me for name albums... my next step is to ask them what color scheme they'd like (ok, really the next step is to hit them up for money but THEN my next step is to discuss color schemes). I had 2 clients who, without consulting each other, ask for 8 letter names and the EXACT SAME COLOR SCHEME! So I had 2 albums to work on this week that look almost identical! It sort of made my job a little easier.

This Holidays album is unique in that I did something with it that I have never done before but I will definitely be doing again because I think the result is great. I normally try to do a little bit of sewing on these albums... I just love the way the sewed edges add texture and frame the photos that my clients will later add. So for this album I actually sewed the pages together before I glued the paper onto the chipboard. This allows the sewing to blend into each page and I think the result is terrific.

Can't Keep Her In Suspense!

On Friday morning, I hinted to my client that I was done with her name album and all I had to do was photograph it and post it here. This morning I had a note on my Facebook wall saying "Help, I can't find it on your blog!!!" so I feel bad making her wait to see this since I know she is so excited to see the finished product. I am very excited because I was able to use a new line of papers! Since I made her wait, I'll post ALL the photos I took!

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!

New Year! New & Exciting Events from Jeune Girl Crafts!!!

My head is bursting with all the things I have running around in it but here are some reminders and announcements for things coming up:

1. My Ebay group QITM has begun it's Kit Klub. This was an idea that I came up with to help the group help others in their scrapbooking. Starting today, members of the group will be listing scrap KITS for you to make your own pages using paper piecings and other materials that each person puts together. There will be a variety of themes offered so keep checking back to see if there is something you like. Most kits will be priced under $10!! What a bargain!!! If there is a type of kit you are interested in seeing, please contact me and I'll make sure one gets made. You can go to ebay and search QITM and you will be shown all the listings my our group.

If you want to search my listings click HERE

2. Scrapbook Page Special: This sale will continue until February 28th for anyone who reads my blog. $50 for 10 pages (including shipping!!!). Thanks to my 3 quick clients who were able to get this already awesome deal for $40!!!!!! I have some work ahead of me now!

3. My New Year's Resolution. As I mentioned before, I am planning on making Jeune Girl the best that I think it can be. The first step in this is making projects that are just all ME. For a time last year I felt my creativity was being stifled by making pieces that catered to the "look" that seems to sell big on Ebay (cutesy animals and very block oriented layouts... mats just sitting there). Now, I'm going to make pages that I, personally, love. It is my hope that you love them too! My clients that purchase the 10 pages deal will probably see pages similar to this:

4. Finally.... Etsy. Etsy is where it's AT. I have had an Etsy shop for a while and I am beginning to list more exclusive (one of a kind) items on there so please check it out. Click on the link on the right to see my Etsy and Ebay listings. This is my latest offering that I am just absolutely in love with:

Bustling with Activity

I haven't posted in a while since I've been out of commission (my scrap room is also my guest room so when we have guests I have to close up shop). I had been working on some name albums that were in limbo but I had a few hours today to get them finished! The Love albums and Baby will be posted on Ebay soon and the Reba album was a custom order for another "Make A Wish" young lady.

I hope you have a Happy and Safe New Year and I'll be back to posting here in 2009 where I hope to have an even better year watching my business grow! Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement.
