Name Albums

I am truly excited to share this latest project with you. I am going to begin working closely with a member of the QITM Ebay design team that I joined in October. She is a new member of our group and makes great chipboard albums. She cuts the letters and I had the pleasure of decorating them. Her Ebay name is Bandit210. This sample is for my older daughter, Brynne. I also have one for Catrina that I will begin to work on soon. Each album can be completely personalized with color and embellishments.
If you would like your child's name decorated, please contact me for pricing and ordering details. I will be placing an order for the albums in the middle of July and working on them after that.

Just Because....

This layout was super easy and super simple! With all the work I do for Ebay where everything is BUSY BUSY BUSY it was nice to sit back with some of my own photos. I've slowly been filling a box of photos I need to scrapbook... I'm WAY behind. These are 2 photos I took over Memorial Day weekend. Funny, I still haven't scrapbooked most of Christmas or the girls' birthdays but I'm working on Memorial Day. People ask me all the time if I scrapbook chronologically and I tell them no... it would drive me crazy. I keep a box of photographs (I think there are about 100 pictures in there) that I would like to work with and when I have free time, I select the papers and embellishments I'd like to work with and then find the pictures that work best. I guess that is kind of backwards but it's what works for me. If anyone has any tips on how they organize their scrapbooking I'd love to hear about them!

The Wonderful World of ..... you know the rest!

DISNEY!

I've recently acquired some new fun things that will make it possible for me to offer Disney themed pages to my customers. This opens a whole new (and of course WONDERFUL) world of scrapbooking for me. If you have photos of your Disney vacation and would like me to scrap them for you, let me know. I can also make embellishments for you that you would add to your own pages. With my new supplies, I made both Mickey icons on the first page as well as the entire Minnie & Mickey characters on the second page. These pages are just 2 of a set of 12 I made for a wonderful family who enjoyed their Disney vacation earlier this year. I also plan on making some of my own trip from April.

Father's Day, Scrapbook Style!

Honestly, how do you craft for a guy? It's not easy and I pretty much think my husband placates me when he says "Oh that's very nice honey". But I tried out this experimental project and he was my "victim". I just had to try this when I saw it done in a scrapbooking magazine. It's really simple... just an old frame, some corkboard, fabric, ribbon, & embellishments. The fabric acts as a pocket while the corkboard can support thumbtacks so it's great for an off to college gift or just as a fancy way to hold your grocery list. I had a great time trying out something different. Fabric is definitely a medium I don't get to work with very often.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there... many of whom are loyal readers of the Jeune Girl Crafts blog because we all know that men secretly pine to be scrapbookers. (Little known fact: my own hubby thought up the name of my little craft business.) Here's a shot of him and the girls just before going to church.

DVD & CD Cases

Ok, ok, how many of you have ALL of your photos sitting on your computer? CD cases that are personalized make great gifts. I was inspired by our Memorial Day weekend in which we had one photo op after another and we decided to put all the photos on discs to give to the girls' grandparents. The CD covers can be decorated to match the theme and then proudly displayed anywhere. Contact me for details if you're interested in ordering some. They can be fully personalized and made for any occasion (birthday, vacation, weddings, baby shower, Christmas, YOU NAME IT!). The sample shown is for a baby girl and the monogram can be changed.

Here are some more examples for the holiday season. You can look for this case and others like it on Ebay starting in July when I will be participating in the "Christmas in July" challenge with my Ebay group, QITM.

Scrapbooking Tip #4: Kits!

Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a big fan of kits. I always have enjoyed mixing and matching papers and embellishments. However, there are exceptions. If you want to complete a project quickly or if you just fall in love with one particular line then a kit can be perfect.
These papers are in the "3 Bugs & a Rug" Island collection. Technically, I didn't buy a kit. I had to pick and choose the papers and bought the stickers & embellishments separately. But I purchased with this sort of project in mind.

These are pages from my latest creation:
Surfer Mini Album

Just because you're using a kit doesn't mean you can't bring in items from other brands. In addition to the "3 Bugs in a Rug" papers I also used Prima flowers as well as other embellishments.

Kits can be very useful in all levels of scrapbooking. I always recommend that beginners buy a couple of kits to get themselves going. Don't be afraid to rip and tear and break up the kits in ways you may not have thought to do. All of the above pages are mixed and matched from 5 pieces of 12x12 paper (and stickers of course) so the combinations you can create are limitless!

Happy Scrapping!

The Dog Days of.... Spring???

Ok, the mercury hit a ridiculous 99 degrees today and last I checked we have 2 weeks until summer officially arrives. So to celebrate the dog days of spring I invite you to check out this Ebay listing that just ended. It was one of the "hottest" auctions I've had so far. This turned out to be one of my most bid on items, with more watchers than I can ever remember. and page hits that made me wonder if people were looking for a Wii Fit game instead.

Frames, Frames, and More Frames!

Not sure what it is about frames but they are the hot item of the week.
First I had my New York City frames, then I had 2 frames from my loyal
client Jen, out in California and then I decided that I would make 2 frames
for Brynne's preschool teachers.

Apparently frames only come in sets of 2 for me!

Great Teacher Gift Idea

This category is just a shameless way for me to post my favorite lunch boxes from the last 8 months. They are fun to make and are great gifts for teachers. Once made, you can load it up as a "survival kit" for teachers... maybe some M&M's, power bars.... ummm earplugs? I like to add mini-albums on the inside but with the end of school HERE there isn't much time for that fancy stuff.
If you're looking for a unique gift for your child's teacher... or for any occasion (they are fabulous gift boxes!) just let me know.
