More Names!

I finally delivered these sets of letters that I worked on for some local moms who wanted to give these as gifts to members of their families.

Aivlin: this sounds like something I would name one of my kids. I'll add it to the short list in case #3 ever comes along.... no, there is no announcement forthcoming!

Here is the set I made for my friend, Felipa. Her niece has a princess theme room and since I know a little bit about princesses, I had NO PROBLEM making these. Felipa actually came to "my center of operations" and got to see behind the curtain. Apparently she is painting her kitchen the same color as my scrap room :)

Best of luck with the new ones and I hope they enjoy their letters!

My Little Known Craft:

Bulletin Boards! I don't advertise these as much as my other crafts because they are just too darn hard to ship. I am working with my team of carpenters (funny, it's my same team that handles my web design) to come up with some smaller, desk-size boards that will help with your organization... I'll keep you posted on those developments! Meanwhile, my local fans can certainly let me know if they'd like one for their own wall. I made this one for a local mom to match the wall letters I also made for her. She's giving this as a gift and I just love Cole's color scheme and train theme!

A City So Nice....

.... they framed it twice! I had so much FUN making these frames for a local mom who is planning a family vacation to the city. She's keeping one for herself and giving one as a gift. She said the hard part will be deciding which one to keep.

I added some old (possibly vintage at this point!) postcards that I have in my collection for the photos here (Did you know that I collect postcards? I must have over 300... they fill a shoe box).

Memorial Day Weekend with the Family

First stop: The Trevor Zoo.

Located in Millbrook, NY, this zoo has been our "go to" family outing place for years. It's a hidden treasure in the Hudson Valley.

The girls got to see some great animals up close. They both loved the river otter but Catrina (and I for that matter) had to leave the Tamarin exhibit because of the smell... those cute little guys smell AWFUL!

Then we all went to the park in the town of Millbrook. The girls were daring enough to try the biggest curly slide I'd ever seen. I had a heart attack while they had a blast! They also enjoyed being "Pirate Girls" on the cool ship they had there.

We called it a day after that! We were beat!

On Sunday we enjoyed a trip to Southlands where the girls enjoyed pony rides, face painting, a petting zoo, & feeding chickens (who knew they liked grass clippings??)

We followed this up with a short trip to one of my favorite places in the Hudson Valley, Vanderbilt Mansion. We used to live about 5 minutes from Vanderbilt so it has become a focal point for many of our family outings. We went to the river where the girls enjoyed the rock climbing (but not so much the rock "falling" as Brynne experienced). We found a nice little nook where the girls tried their hand at rock throwing and I practiced taking black and white pictures.

And a trip to Hyde Park isn't complete without a stop at the Everready Diner (I recommend the blackened chicken pita). We met up with some friends for a nice dinner (well if you define "nice" as my children being ill-behaved.... I blamed the company). We topped it off with a stop at DQ.

Brynne's BFF

I told my friend Kelly she had officially made it into one of my scrapbook pages and she said she was honored.

Here she is celebrating St. Patty's Day with Brynne. She's been Brynne's BFF since before Brynne was even born. They're good pals and Brynne loves having her "friend Kelly" over to visit!

What I've Been Up To!

After a long weekend of not having any time to scrapbook, last night I was able to sit down with some of my own photos. I must have over 100 pictures that I still need to do something with but I was INSPIRED (hence the title on Brynne's page) by these recent pictures of my girls.

For Brynne's page I went a little out of my comfort zone with the use of such bold colors but I really love how it came out. As for Catrina's page, it was a chance to go back to what I love to do which is make girly pages with a strong focal point. I have several good pictures from that day but just having one on the page allowed me to bring in more color and embellishments!

"Sweet Summer Treats" is Coming!

My Ebay design team is at it again! Starting Saturday May 17th at 10pm EST we'll all be listing a variety of items with the theme "Sweet Summer Treats". I have 3 layouts and 3 sets of mats scheduled to list. I know the other team members are going to be listing some cute items as well.

Make sure you go to my Ebay listings to see them. I really enjoy participating in group challenges. Anyone who has seen my scrap supplies should know that when it comes to inspiration, sometimes I need direction! These group challenges help keep me focused and allow me to streamline the process of choosing supplies.

All Around the Town!

In addition to my work that is on display at Little Ones in New Paltz and Waddle n Swaddle in Poughkeepsie, I am now proud to say that I have a wedding lunch box on display at the Town Shop in Poughkeepsie. The owners of the Town Shop have always been extra kind to me so hopefully I will gain more exposure in the area of wedding favors/bridal party gifts as well as unique gifts for graduations and prom.

If you're in the neighborhood, go say hi to Gary and Kathy and check out my lunch box.

Catrina's the Big 0-3!!!

I can't believe it's been 3 years! Catrina came to us as a bit of a "surprise". Our "plan" was to space our children apart by 3 years or so but Miss Catrina was on a different timetable. Little did we know how much she was needed in this family. She is one of the funniest, brightest, and beautiful little girls you will ever meet and has just enough mischief in her to keep us always on our toes.

Happy Birthday Catrina! We love you.

How I Spent National Scrapbooking Day

I worked on 3 Mother's Day frames for a friend of mine to give to her family. She requested a "shabby chic" look so I hope I came through. (Obviously for the picture I put my own kiddies in it). You can see samples of the other frames at www.jeunegirl.com

These are the letters I was working on for this week (so nice to work on 1 set at a time instead of 5!!!). The baby's room is done in colors I would decorate my whole house in (in fact, they match my dining room and kitchen very nicely) so I had no trouble getting into making these adorable letters. They're in the mail today!!!

Lastly, this is an ongoing album I've been working on to sell on Ebay. It's about 16 pages and really THICK. It's chock full of flowers,3D stickers, ribbon, charms, tags! Perfect for display!

I hope many of you had a chance to scrap on Saturday!
