Where the Boys Are!

Everyone knows that I have 2 beautiful girls so when it comes to girly-girl scrapbook pages I'm on the ball... I have endless supplies and tons of ideas. Boys on the other hand... well.... that's another story. Beginning back when I made the name Ryan for a wonderful client in town I began to see that boy stuff can be fun too!
Taking it a step further I have begun to gather lots of boy supplies and I recently made these 2 pages of 2 of my favorite little guys. It helps that their mother is a professional photographer:

Scrap Tip #3.... STAND UP!!!

I am notorious for making crooked layouts... I think my head is on a permanent angle. One solution that works is to stand up to do your work. Giving yourself a "birds' eye view" really helps you see the full layout.... plus it gets the blood flowing!

For example here's one of my current Ebay listings in which I had to really stand up to see the whole picture:

Here is a sneak peak of a layout by me:

What's In a Name?

A few weeks ago I was BOMBARDED with orders for letters. Totally out of the blue... it's feast and famine around here. I've been working with 5 moms and another one who wanted a frame (photos to come later). Each set is totally unique to the decor and style that each mother wants their child's room to have. I have had so much fun putting these together!

Sad Goodbye to Old Reliable

It is with great sadness that I announce the quiet passing of my old friend.... one that has been with me from the beginning of my scrapbooking adventures. I couldn't have made it without him and he will be missed.... but he will also be replaced ASAP since I have 6 orders for people who are waiting for their letters!!!! He passed quietly sometime this morning.

Scrapbooking Tip #2: KEEP YOUR SCRAPS!

I have boxes and boxes of scraps.... those little leftovers from larger projects. I even have them organized by size which are then subdivided into pattern or solid. It's a form of OCD, this I know. But scraps can be used to make some really cute projects.

The photos shown are perfect examples of how scraps can be used for another purpose. These are 2 mini-albums that were made for Ebay. I feel that if a scrap is interesting or really high quality, then it should be kept for use in future projects.
